Five days learning how to weave tapestry from the front or back.  This was a refresher course for some of us.  Two days only of instruction was an option, taken advantage of by a couple of our members.  Handspun yarn dyed with nature dyes were used in our work and was a pleasure to use as all of the colour harmonize. We had a wonderful time.

 



We ate and dined well including a party on Saturday night at the home of one of the participants.  Socializing within our group is one of the great benefits of belonging to Peace Country Spinners and Weavers.  We share information about our current projects and guild activities.  We are inspired by each other as well as by the instructors of the workshops.

 

 

The  spinning workshop featured spinning for consistency, adjusting knitting patterns and crock pot dyeing. There was a lot of laughter during this workshop!

It was a very productive time at the Lakeview Inn in Fort St. John.  Thank you to Elaine and Marjo for sharing your expertise.  Thank you to the Fort St. John PCSW members who helped to make these workshops so successful.  There was an unofficial nomination to have 5 day workshops more often.

North Peace Spinners' and Weavers' summer dye retreat at Mary's cabin on Charlie Lake.  Three glorious days of dyeing, using propane stoves, due to the ban on open fires.  Mostly nature dyes, such as cutch, rhubarb leaves, rooibos/green tea leaves, etc. and some commercial dyes.  Wool fabric and pin woven wool squares were also dyed.
